Rainbow Bridge
at Jack Russell Rescue

Since starting Jack Russell Rescue, some of our beloved dogs are no longer with us.  If you have had one of our
Jacks and he/she has gone to the Rainbow bridge,
please send us a picture to include on our site.

And we thank you for giving them
another chance to enjoy life.

Please page down to see our dogs that have
gone over the Rainbow bridge.

"MEGAN" 2007
We rescued "Megan"  in Aug 07 and had her for some four months. When she came to us she have hardly any coat and was covered with sores and a bad flea condition, also very under weight.
With the loving care of the Ferris family she gained weight and the flea condition was under control.  Deborah from Aussie Pooch washed her on a regular basis to improve her skin.

After four months her skin condition wasn't improving and under our Vets advice she has now gone to Doggie Heaven.
Sad as this is we were advised that this was the best for her as her skin condition would have been very uncomfortable for her, as her skin at times was very hot to feel.

"EVA"  2008
We acquired Eva from Sandra at Oakville as a companion for our male Jack Russell, called Rambo.
It was a bit of a rocky start, but they grew to love each other and were inseparable. She gave us great pleasure for the 6 years we had her, but sadly she was diagnosed with a Marcels Tumour and this was inoperable. We made the heart wrenching decision to end her pain on 5th April, 2008.

Rambo was not the same dog without her, he was forever searching all the places they used to get up to mischief in the yard.

We decided he needed a new companion, and we contacted Jill who had a little female. We picked her up on the 25/4/08. Her name is Samantha (Sami for short).   She is settling in well and they are getting to know each other. She will be a great mate for Rambo as well as a good companion for us.

Thanking the JRT Rescue for all your help over the years.

MANNY 2008
Was rescued from the Gold Coast pound by his new owner Sandra Watkins, his problem was that he was too much of a character for several previous owners.

He was fabulous and we loved him (he is the one on the far right).
Thank you, also to Sandra Watkins and family for their kind donation to help another hairy over-busy JR to get a new home.

Just this side of heaven is a place called

Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
