FREE TO GOOD HOME

At Jack Russell Rescue we offer this limited service, and would appreciate any donations if that helps you find another home for your Jack Russell, as this helps us continue to help others that don't have owners looking after them.

Jack Russell Terriers need secure yards and housing, they require commitment, human companionship, the opportunity for play and exercise, and attention to training on an ongoing basis. They can make great pets if their needs are met.

Your dog should visit a Vet every year for an annual check-up and to discuss Vaccination status, as well as Vet treatment when required at other times.

All dogs need tick/flea treatment/prevention, worming treatments, as well as Heartworm assessment by vet, then treatment if required and ongoing heartworm prevention tablets after that. Most common conditions are easily managed under Vet advice.

JRT's are generally (depending on their lifelong health) a long-lived breed, up to 15 years and sometimes beyond that.

"MR POPPY"

Mr Poppy was one of three jacks that were looking for a new home from Gordon Vets. The other two have found a home but he is still looking for his.

He’s 10yrs, desexed and up to date with his C5 & ProHeart vac. He’s the quieter of the three but still has a lot of personality.

If you can help him please call -

"MERLIN"

We have a 3 year old male, Tan/White wired hair Jack Russell Terrier "Merlin" who is pure bred. He has papers but has never been shown. He is desexed, registered with the local council and has all of his vaccinations up to date.

He is not a child friendly animal and we have a 1 year old daughter who he is very jealous of. Merlin was our first "baby" and has not been the same dog ever since we became parents.

He is a lovely dog who we just feel isn't getting the love and attention that he deserves. He would best be suited to a family who did not have small children, an older person or a couple who already have a dog and no young kids. We want him to go to a household where he would be treated as one of their family. At present Merlin sleeps inside on a beanbag and is out the back when we are not home.

It is with much sadness that I have come to the decision that we need to rehome him as our circumstances have changed. We are expecting a second baby in August this year. We want Merlin to go to people that will love him. Merlin gets along well with other dogs but I think would prefer to be the alpha dog if he had his way. He loves going for walks and travels well in the car.

Merlin is not so much of a person dog often prefering to be outside but will come for a pat when he feels like it. Merlin doesn't like thunder or loud transport going past. He has been semi trained - he will sit when he wants to and can drop and eats gently from your hands.
